Cadena Ser revealed that Ferran Torres and Raphinha will not be able to participate in Barcelona’s match against Olympiacos on Tuesday due to their inability to fully recover from their injuries.
Raphinha was expected to return immediately after the international break, but he suffered a setback that delayed his return. Torres’ injury with the Spanish national team was reported to be minor, and Barcelona even stated that he would play against Girona, but that did not happen.
According to the latest report, Torres is still experiencing muscle pain, so the medical staff preferred to give him more time to recover, fearing rushing him into the match against Olympiacos and the potential relapse that would keep him out for a long period.
Barcelona’s current plan is to work on getting Torres and Rafinha fit for next Sunday’s El Clásico. Hopes are high, especially for Ferran, while there are many doubts that the Brazilian will be at the Bernabéu.
With the duo absent, Hansi Flick is left with only Marcus Rashford, Lamine Yamal, and Roony Bardaghi in attack, which could force him to once again rely on Ronald Araujo at center forward when needed, as he did in the final minutes of the Girona match.
