Shocking statements attributed to Victor Osimhen have sparked widespread debate after a Turkish outlet claimed the Galatasaray striker attacked the club’s management over unpaid wages for three months.
According to Haber Erk, Osimhen allegedly appeared in a video clip stating, “I haven’t received my salary in three months,” before issuing an ultimatum to officials: “If you don’t pay my money, I will leave.”
The report went even further, quoting the Nigerian star as claiming Galatasaray wouldn’t enjoy global fame if not for him. However, these alleged statements have not appeared in any reliable source or major Turkish media outlet.
This unverified story appears to confuse Osimhen’s salary with an unrelated issue. Osimhen had received a bank notice regarding delayed income tax payments. Upon notifying Galatasaray’s board, the club immediately settled the amount to resolve the matter.
Contracts for several top stars at the Turkish club specify that management covers the players’ tax obligations. Therefore, Osimhen was not personally responsible for the delay, and credible reports contain no mention of the club withholding his salary.
Similar rumors surfaced last February, but Galatasaray officials quickly denied any overdue payments, with Abdullah Kavukcu confirming that the club remains fully committed to its agreed payment schedule.
The 27-year-old striker earns a net annual salary of €15 million, alongside a €1 million loyalty bonus and €5 million for image rights, according to official figures announced during his permanent transfer from Napoli.
