Despite the setbacks, Mbappé makes history with Real Madrid with his goal against Levante

Kylian Mbappé scored a goal in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Levante on Saturday evening at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in La Liga.

The French international caused considerable concern before the match after he went down injured during the warm-up and sat on the ground for three minutes, but he was ultimately able to participate without further incident.

In the 58th minute, Mbappé converted a penalty to give Real Madrid the lead, before Raúl Asensio added a second with a header in the 62nd minute.

With this goal, Mbappé’s total for Real Madrid in La Liga reached 50 goals in just 53 appearances.

According to Opta, the 25-year-old became the second-fastest player to reach 50 La Liga goals for Real Madrid, after the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.

While it’s true that Mbappé broke several of Ronaldo’s records with Real Madrid, this time he couldn’t quite match them. Ronaldo scored 50 goals in La Liga alone after 51 matches, two fewer than the French star.

Mbappé has scored 19 goals in La Liga this season and currently leads the scoring charts. Last season, he netted 31 goals in 34 matches.

It’s worth noting that Mbappé has scored 30 goals for Real Madrid across all competitions this season.

Overall, the French star has scored 74 goals and provided 10 assists in 84 appearances for Real Madrid since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2014.
