It appears that Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps and will end up playing for Real Madrid, the club where the Portuguese star enjoyed a legendary nine-year career.
According to The Athletic, 15-year-old Ronaldo Jr. participated in Real Madrid’s under-16 training session on Tuesday morning, a move seen as the beginning of his full-time move to “La Fábrica” (Real Madrid’s youth academy).
Ronaldo’s son is currently active in Al-Nassr’s youth academy and has also played in the academies of Manchester United and Juventus. He has also represented Portugal at the under-15 level and now seems ready to take the next significant step in his career.
While nothing has been officially confirmed regarding his potential transfer, his presence at “La Fábrica” training strongly suggests that he could sign in the coming weeks.
If his move is confirmed, Ronaldo Jr. will be able to stay at La Fábrica’s facilities alongside other top academy players. Naturally, his anticipated return to the Spanish capital has sparked discussions and questions about whether his father will also return soon.
Ronaldo has a 15-month contract with Al-Nassr, and it is likely he will complete it in the Saudi Professional League, given his desire to reach 1,000 career goals (he currently has 964) before retiring.
Upon retiring, there is a strong possibility that Ronaldo will return to Spain. He recently purchased a 25% stake in Almería, and in addition to supporting his son, he may take on an active role at the club, which plays in the Spanish second division.
