Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has taken his doping ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The 25-year-old Ukrainian international has not played a match for nearly 18 months after a “routine urine test came back negative,” leading to his provisional suspension in December 2024.
The FA charged Mudryk in June 2025, and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the player has been given a four-year ban.
The Switzerland-based court told BBC Sport: “The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirms it has received an appeal from Mykhailo Mudryk against the Football Association, filed on 25 February 2026.” It added: “The parties are currently exchanging written submissions, and a hearing date has not yet been set.”
Mudryk, who joined Chelsea for an initial fee of €70 million (£61 million) in January 2023, has not played a competitive match since November 2024.
In his only public statement since the start of his provisional suspension, Mudryk described it as a “complete shock,” insisting that he “never knowingly used any prohibited substances and never broke any rules.”
