Jude Bellingham stressed that Real Madrid remains of great value and is capable of overcoming Manchester City in the Champions League, although the advantage seems clear to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
The Royal Club will host City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in the second leg of the quarter-finals, after an exciting first-leg match that ended in a positive 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
In the press conference before the match, “I hope we win tomorrow. If I can help the team, it will be great. We will try to qualify. We are a great team.”
He also added, “Manchester City won the treble last season. Of course people see them as the most likely to qualify, but we are Real Madrid. We have confidence and we have good players.”
When asked about last summer and City’s interest in him, he replied, “I spoke to many clubs, but as soon as the Real Madrid option appeared, I did not think twice and decided to join this great club.”
Finally, he was asked about his recent decline in performance and his lack of scoring many goals, to which he replied, “I started the season very well, then I was affected by my injury against Girona. The pain continued to haunt me for a while after that. Now I try to help my teammates. I don’t really care about criticism and I want to respond on the field.”
