Bayern Munich have firmly slammed the door on Al-Hilal’s attempts to sign Luis Díaz, declaring that the Colombian winger remains a vital part of the squad for the upcoming season.
Responding to transfer speculation, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphatically told German outlet Kicker: “We’d be stupid if we sold Díaz, wouldn’t we?”
Dreesen added: “Honestly, we have a fantastic team. Let’s start the season and get to scoring goals.”
According to L’Équipe, Saudi giant Al-Hilal had identified Díaz as their primary transfer target, preparing an opening bid of at least €70 million to open negotiations with the Bavarian club.
While the 29-year-old was reportedly open to hearing out the Saudi offer, Bayern’s board informed all parties that they have no intention of letting him leave following his sensational maiden campaign in Germany.
