Bischoff then equalized in stoppage time, before Lennart Karl scored the winning goal in the 99th minute, securing a crucial three points for the Bavarians.
Bayern Munich Extends Lead at the Top of the Bundesliga
This victory has given Bayern Munich a significant advantage at the top of the Bundesliga, bringing them very close to clinching the title for the second consecutive year.
The southern club now has 73 points, temporarily extending their lead over Borussia Dortmund to 12 points before the Black and Yellows face a very difficult match against Stuttgart on Saturday.
After 28 rounds, Augsburg remains the only team to have defeated Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, having triumphed 2-1 last January.
As for Freiburg, the other southern club’s tally remains at eight points (37), further diminishing their chances of securing a European spot next season. They trail seventh-placed Eintracht Frankfurt by one point and sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen by 12 points.
Bayern Munich’s next match is against Real Madrid in the 2026 Champions League
Bayern Munich now travels to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the first leg of the 2026 Champions League quarter-finals.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th, at 10:00 PM Mecca time. Following that, Bayern travels to northern Germany to face St. Pauli on Saturday, April 11th.
