The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” has confirmed that Barcelona will not only sign Nico Williams this summer, but will also try to sign Dani Olmo, at the request of coach Hansi Flick.
In the past few hours, Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has met with Williams’ agent, and an agreement on the Bilbao Athletic star’s joining the Blaugrana is very close.
At the same time, a major breakthrough has occurred in negotiations between Barcelona and Olmo’s camp, making Barça effectively have the approval of both players to join its ranks in the current transfer window.
Flick also wants to sign Olmo because he can be relied on as a winger or in midfield, which will provide him with many solutions, especially after his impressive success in midfield during his participation in the Euros with Spain.
However, Barcelona now has to provide at least 120 million euros to sign the Spanish duo, as each of them will cost the Blaugrana coffers at least 60 million euros, which is the only obstacle currently preventing the deals from being finalized.
It is also worth noting that the 19-year-old Williams has been clear that he will not wait for Barcelona until the end of the transfer window, meaning the club must act immediately to secure this deal at the very least.
