According to the newspaper Sport, citing the British outlet The Sun, the London club is considering making a move to sign Tresoldi during the upcoming winter transfer window, at a time when Barcelona continues to monitor a player who had already appeared on their radar last summer.

This competition follows the intersection of both clubs’ interest in Julián Álvarez, as Atlético Madrid stubbornly rejected the Argentine’s move to Barcelona, while summer reports indicated the player’s lack of conviction regarding Arsenal’s option despite Mikel Arteta’s intervention, ending that phase without a move to either side.

As for the current file, it involves a different and younger striker whom Arsenal sees as an addition for both the present and the future, especially with Arteta searching for increased attacking efficiency, given that Viktor Gyökeres has not delivered the expected output, according to the report.

Tresoldi, 22 years old, has strongly made a name for himself by scoring nine goals in his first 12 matches this season, including four goals in the Champions League, highlighted by a notable hat-trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro.

The report places his valuation at around £42 million (nearly €48 million), while other estimates point to demands that could reach €60 million, after Brugge rejected an offer from Roma worth approximately €35 million last summer.

Arsenal possesses an additional advantage in the form of its good relationship with the Belgian club, following the signing of Christos Tzolis for around €40 million; the Greek winger was one of Tresoldi’s most prominent attacking partners before his move to London.

Barcelona is well-acquainted with the player’s characteristics, having been proposed by the sports management as an alternative to Álvarez, capitalizing on his ability to move, link up play, and find spaces inside the box after moving from Hannover to Brugge in June 2025.

Tresoldi is contracted until 2029, and his club prefers to keep him until the end of the season, making any winter move complex, especially with his name also linked to Milan, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund. Consequently, Arsenal threatens Barcelona’s plans, though they have not yet finalized the deal.
