Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti predicts that Vinicius Junior will explode against Arsenal on Tuesday, responding to the criticism the Brazilian received after the recent La Liga match against Valencia.
Real Madrid lost 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu to Los Che, and Vinicius was booed by Real fans after missing a penalty and making several unsuccessful dribbles.
Ancelotti was asked about Vinicius in the press conference before the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, and he responded, “He wasn’t at his best against Valencia, but I’m convinced he’ll be even better against Arsenal.”
He added, “I know very well that when he’s not at his best, he explodes in the next match, and given what happened in the Valencia match, I’m confident that Vinicius will explode against Arsenal.”
Regarding the match against the Gunners in general, the Italian coach said, “Arsenal is a strong team, and we will try to defend well against them. They excel at taking advantage of set pieces, and we will try to limit their threat in this regard and score from them as well.” He concluded, “We are competing for all competitions until the very end. We have all the tools to fight for every title, and our character remains the same in big matches.”
