Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti has set a condition for Neymar to return to the national team.
Ancelotti sparked considerable controversy after his decision to exclude Neymar from Brazil’s last training camp. The Santos star expressed his anger at this, but tried to downplay it, emphasizing that he would do his best to return to the Selecao.
Ancelotti was asked about the future and how Neymar might return to Brazil. The Italian replied, “The national team must include the most talented players. That’s obvious, isn’t it? But a talented player must also be in good physical condition.”
He added, “He must be fully fit, not 80%, but 100%. Neymar is working on improving his fitness. Without a doubt, he is the most talented Brazilian player.”
Brazil is preparing for two matches during the upcoming international break in October, facing South Korea and Japan. It remains likely that Neymar will not be included in Ancelotti’s squad unless he performs well with Santos.
So far, the 33-year-old has failed to make the desired contribution with Santos and has been widely criticized for his lack of goalscoring. His club is currently competing for survival in the Brazilian league.
