An “unsung” goal wins the best award in the Champions League (video)

During a vote presented by UEFA, football fans from around the world chose the best goal in the 2024 Champions League.

UEFA had presented 10 goals chosen by the Technical Observers Committee for the fans to vote on the best of them to be crowned the Goal of the Past Season award in the Champions League.

Tite’s goal for Galatasaray against Copenhagen won the best award, beating Fede Valverde’s goal for Real Madrid against Manchester City.

The goal came after a cross from Wilfried Zaha, which was met by Brazilian player Tite on the volley and shot into the net, announcing Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw with Copenhagen in the group stage.

It is noteworthy that Valverde’s goal won the award for the best goal in the Champions League, chosen by the observers’ committee, which also awarded Vinicius Junior the award for the best player in the competition.
