Bayern Munich has entered into negotiations with Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner so that he can take over as coach of the Bavarian club next season, succeeding Thomas Tuchel.
Three coaches refused to coach Bayern, the last of whom was Ralf Rangnick, so the Bavarians turned to Glasner, who has distinguished experience in the Bundesliga, along with Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Unfortunately for Bayern, the Austrian coach signed a contract with Crystal Palace only two months ago, which has so far prevented him from arriving to coach the German club.
According to the newspaper “Bild”, Glasner has already agreed to work at Bayern, but Crystal Palace’s management refuses to release him except in exchange for compensation that can be described as nothing short of fabulous.
While Bayern Munich was willing to pay an amount approaching 20 million euros to sign Glasner, Crystal Palace management demanded 100 million euros!
Because of this huge number, Bayern Munich withdrew from the negotiations, and it became practically impossible to obtain the signature of the 2022 European League champion.
Glassner’s contract with Palace still extends until the summer of 2026, and in the first 12 matches he led the London team, he won 6 of them, a historic victory against Manchester United 4-0, and another at Anfield over Liverpool 1-0.
German media had suggested that Hansi Flick would return to coach Bayern Munich, but other news said that the former Germany national team coach had been excluded in recent hours.
