Saudi Pro League giant Al-Hilal has entered aggressive negotiations to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, submitting an official bid during the summer transfer window.
According to football insider Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal is confident in securing the deal after offering the Dutch player a massive salary package that significantly outpaces competing financial offers from AS Roma.
While the Italian club is pushing to convince Summerville to stay in European football—submitting a third bid worth €47 million plus add-ons against West Ham’s €50 million asking price—Al-Hilal has made a game-changing, record proposal of £68 million. This lucrative offer has practically sealed the deal in Al-Hilal’s favor, pending the player’s final decision before scheduling medical tests.
The 24-year-old winger recently made headlines during his debut with the Netherlands national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Summerville delivered an outstanding performance under manager Ronald Koeman, registering 2 goals and 2 assists in 282 minutes.
His World Cup campaign featured a stunning goal against Japan in the group stage and a brilliant assist for Cody Gakpo against Morocco in the Round of 32. However, the Dutch side exited the tournament via a penalty shootout after Morocco’s Yassine Bounou saved Summerville’s final spot-kick.
Summerville developed through the Feyenoord youth academy and spent loan spells at ADO Den Haag and FC Den Bosch before moving to Leeds United, where he was named the 2023–2024 EFL Championship Player of the Season. He joined West Ham in the summer of 2024 for approximately €29 million on a contract running through 2029, recording 7 goals and 5 assists across 34 appearances last season.
