Al Ahly Official Response to Mohamed Salah Signing Rumors

Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, a member of Al Ahly’s board of directors, denied recent reports in some Egyptian media outlets that the club is seeking to sign Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah next year.

It was claimed that Egyptian billionaire Yassin Mansour, who is set to become Al Ahly’s vice president, dreams of Salah joining the club and that he might capitalize on the Egyptian star’s potential departure from Liverpool next summer to try and persuade him to join the Egyptian giants.

Sayed Abdel-Hafiz responded to these rumors on MBC Egypt, stating, “The idea of Al Ahly signing Mohamed Salah is just media speculation.”

He added, “Let’s be realistic. Salah recently renewed his contract with Liverpool, and he holds a very special place in the hearts of Egyptians and Arabs. We wish him all the best.”

He concluded, “We read in the media that Al Ahly wants to sign more than one player, but all of this is untrue.”

English media outlets have recently reported that Salah is still on the radar of Saudi league clubs, and that if the 33-year-old continues at his current level, Liverpool’s management may accept selling him next year, even though his contract is still valid until the summer of 2027.
