Manchester United have reached a full agreement with Kobbie Mainoo to renew his contract, ensuring his continued presence at Old Trafford for many years to come.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mainoo has agreed to the terms of the new contract, which will see the Red Devils’ academy graduate extend his stay until June 2031.
The 21-year-old will receive a massive fourfold increase in his salary. From just £25,000 per week, he will now earn £120,000 per week, in addition to performance-related bonuses.
This increase reflects the high regard in which Mainoo is held and the belief that he is one of the most important pillars of Old Trafford, especially since becoming a regular starter following Michael Carrick’s arrival as manager three months ago.
The English manager commented on Mainoo’s contribution, saying, “After being away from football for a while, it’s not easy to come back and play a series of matches and quickly regain your rhythm, but he did it brilliantly and with natural ease.”
Manchester United’s management is currently working on renewing the contracts of its key players. After announcing that captain Harry Maguire will stay and finalizing the agreement with Mainoo, attention is now expected to turn to Bruno Fernandes, whose contract expires in 2027 and who has repeatedly expressed his desire to continue playing in England.
