Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has rejected another offer to return to coaching, preferring to wait for a better opportunity.
The Spanish coach received a lucrative offer from Juventus after the dismissal of Igor Tudor last week, but surprisingly, the Catalan rejected it for what were described as “personal reasons.”
According to Foot Mercato, Spartak Moscow contacted Xavi in recent hours and presented him with a substantial financial offer, along with a promising project led by their new sporting director, Francis Cagigao.
However, Xavi also rejected this offer, making it clear that he prefers to work in Europe’s top five leagues in the coming period and is waiting for a suitable offer.
Xavi has rejected numerous offers recently. Before Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen was a strong contender for his services following Xabi Alonso’s departure, but negotiations between the two parties were unsuccessful.
Xavi has also turned down several offers from Arab countries, including the Qatar national team. It is worth noting that the English media confirmed that Xavi is very interested in the idea of coaching Manchester United, but Ruben Amorim, the current manager of the Red Devils, will not leave his position anytime soon, given Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s confidence in him and his decision to keep him until the end of his contract.
