For the second consecutive year, Real Madrid have been knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, this time after losing to Bayern Munich 6-4 on aggregate.

Güler restored Real Madrid’s lead with a free-kick in the 29th minute, but Harry Kane leveled the score for the home side in the 38th minute with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.
In the final minute of the first half, Kylian Mbappé scored Real Madrid’s third goal after going one-on-one with Manuel Neuer.
The second half began with Bayern Munich enjoying a slight advantage in possession, while Real Madrid relied on quick counter-attacks. The score remained level until a pivotal moment.
In the 86th minute, the referee showed substitute Eduardo Camavinga a second yellow card, followed by a controversial and harsh red card, much to the dismay of the Real Madrid players.
Just three minutes later, Luis Diaz equalized for Bayern with an unstoppable shot, before Olivier Dembele sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the final minute of stoppage time.
With this result, Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals, while Real Madrid are closer than ever to a second trophyless season.
