The transfer has reached its final stages following the Egyptian forward’s agreement on personal terms for a contract extending until the summer of 2031, with manager Roberto De Zerbi playing a pivotal role in convincing him to join his new project.

Reports revealed that Marmoush received a lucrative financial offer from a Saudi Pro League club in recent hours, but he turned it down, prioritizing remaining in England and moving to Tottenham.

Estimates suggest Marmoush’s transfer fee will sit around £60 million to £65 million, while other reports indicate that the combined total for the deals of both the Egyptian and his teammate Savinho could reach nearly £150 million.

Negotiations between the two clubs involve the structured allocation of the payment for both deals; Tottenham will add £15 million to the sum designated for Savinho’s purchase, even though this amount effectively functions as part of Marmoush’s fee.

This financial arrangement stems from Eintracht Frankfurt holding a sell-on clause for Marmoush. Consequently, Manchester City are seeking to ensure a profitable return on the Egyptian’s departure—a factor that had temporarily stalled negotiations before reaching these final stages.

Manchester City signed Marmoush from Frankfurt in January 2025 for a base fee of £59 million, alongside a potential £4.2 million in add-ons.

The 27-year-old struggled for consistent playing time due to Erling Haaland’s presence as the primary striker. Nevertheless, he finished last season with 8 goals and 3 assists across 36 appearances in all competitions, despite playing just 1,393 minutes.

Marmoush is set to become the second player to swap Manchester City for Tottenham this summer after Savinho, forming part of Spurs’ historic spending spree to rebuild the squad under De Zerbi.
