Liverpool have taken a major step in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. According to journalist Nicolò Schira, the Premier League side has reached an agreement in principle with the player on a contract running through the summer of 2032, featuring a salary that would place him among Anfield’s top earners.
The Reds are preparing an initial offer exceeding €100 million to trigger official negotiations with PSG. However, a final resolution remains far off, as the French champions are holding out for a transfer fee between €150 million and €170 million. The 23-year-old French international remains under contract at the Parc des Princes until June 2028.
Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target to replace Mohamed Salah, owing to his pace, dribbling flair, and tactical versatility across the frontline. He closed out last season with 13 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.
It has already been an active summer window at Anfield. Liverpool triggered the €40 million release clause for Osasuna winger Víctor Muñoz and officially welcomed French center-back Gérémy Jacquet from Rennes in a deal previously agreed upon last season.
These additions coincide with a major squad overhaul following the departures of key veterans Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konaté, and Andy Robertson. Meanwhile, the club solidified its core by securing Dominik Szoboszlai to a long-term contract extension.
Manager Andoni Iraola—who stepped into the Anfield role after leading Bournemouth to their highest-ever Premier League points tally—is aiming to build a high-intensity side built on aggressive counter-pressing and rapid transitions. Iraola has insisted that the signings of Muñoz and Jacquet alone are not enough to compete across the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, urging the board to secure an elite winger. Barcola is seen as the final centerpiece of Liverpool’s new-look attack, provided the club can bridge the substantial valuation gap with PSG.
