Egyptian giants Al Ahly have put an end to the recent speculation surrounding the future of Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, categorically denying reports regarding his potential departure—either on loan or a permanent transfer—during the current summer transfer window.
An official source within Al Ahly told Egyptian media outlets that all rumors concerning Zizo’s exit are entirely baseless. The source emphasized that the winger remains a core pillar of the squad, highlighting that the coaching staff fully trusts his ability to deliver a stronger performance next season, with absolutely no intention of letting him go.
These statements come in response to recent reports linking Al Ahly’s new salary cap policy to the potential offloading of high earners. However, the Red Devils’ management explicitly separated the financial restructuring from Zizo’s future, confirming that the player is completely excluded from any transfer discussions.
Al Ahly have already begun reshaping their squad recently, which saw the departure of Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” as part of the board’s plan to restore financial and technical balance within the team, while continuing efforts to reinforce key positions ahead of the new season.
On the pitch, Zizo did not replicate the prolific numbers he consistently achieved during his peak years with rivals Zamalek. In his debut season with Al Ahly, he featured in 21 matches across all competitions, registering 4 goals and 7 assists. Despite this dip, the technical staff, led by Moroccan manager Houcine Ammouta, remains confident that Zizo can rediscover his finest form in the upcoming campaign.
