Following the Carthage Eagles’ heavy 5-1 defeat against Sweden, rumors of Lamouchi’s dismissal began to circulate. However, the manager remained unfazed, attending the team’s training sessions as usual and carrying out his duties without any disruption.

According to the recent report, the day of his dismissal was marked by complete chaos and poor organization within the Tunisian camp in Monterrey, Mexico. Lamouchi was also deeply shocked during the Sweden match when individuals sitting in the VIP section directly behind the Tunisian bench hurled insulting language at him.

In a bizarre turn of events, Lamouchi discovered his own firing through an Instagram post by the Tunisian Federation, which announced his dismissal and the appointment of Mondher Kebaier. The FTF later deleted the post, keeping in mind that nobody had officially contacted or informed the coach about his sacking at that point.

Following the social media leak, eight Tunisian players contacted Lamouchi to offer their absolute support, claiming they would walk out of the training camp if he left. Ironically, none of them followed through on their promise once Herve Renard was later announced as the new manager.

Eventually, FTF President Moez Nasri stepped in, verbally informing Lamouchi of his departure. Shortly after, the termination contract was delivered directly to the coach’s hotel room with the assistance of the Federation’s General Secretary, Walid Merdassi, wrapping up a process described as highly unprofessional and erratic.

The 54-year-old manager did receive one piece of comforting news at the end of the day. Famous French striker André-Pierre Gignac, who resides in Monterrey, reached out to Lamouchi to offer his support and invited him to spend the evening at his home—a heartwarming gesture that eased the burden of an unforgettable day.
