Following the Footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo
With this goal, Mbappé became only the second player in Real Madrid’s history to score a staggering 86 goals during his first two seasons with the club across all official competitions. The only other player to achieve this feat is the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappé’s individual performance last season was slightly more successful, as he netted 44 goals compared to the 42 goals scored this season. In comparison, Ronaldo scored 33 goals in his debut 2009-2010 season and followed it up with 53 goals in the 2010-2011 campaign.
Historic Calendar Year and Pichichi Dominance
Furthermore, by the end of 2025, Mbappé had already leveled with Ronaldo in an astonishing calendar year record. Both forwards hold the milestone for the most goals scored for Real Madrid in a single calendar year, each hitting the back of the net 59 times.
It is also worth noting that the French star secured the Pichichi trophy as La Liga’s top scorer for the second consecutive season. Mbappé clinical finish to the campaign saw him claim the top spot with 25 league goals, outlasting Mallorca’s striker Vedat Muriqi, who finished as the runner-up with 23 goals.
