Robert Lewandowski has officially announced the end of his journey with Barcelona, bringing down the curtain on a distinguished four-year career where he successfully brought the Blaugrana back to competition and silverware.
With the 37-year-old’s contract expiring at the end of this season, and no agreement reached for a one-year extension, the Polish international has decided to move on.
Emotional Farewell to Catalonia
Writing on his Instagram account, Lewandowski stated: “After four years full of challenges and hard work, the time has come to take another step.”
He added: “I leave Barcelona feeling that the mission has been successfully completed; I achieved 3 titles in 4 seasons. I will never forget the love I received from the fans; Catalonia will always be my place on this earth.”
He also extended a special thanks to President Joan Laporta for giving him the chance to live one of the most enjoyable chapters of his career.
