Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has denied viral statements attributed to him, in which he reportedly attacked Kylian Mbappé following the Frenchman’s recent crises with coach Álvaro Arbeloa.
A tweet had circulated on X (formerly Twitter) claiming Kroos called Mbappé “arrogant” and described his actions after the recent Real Oviedo match as a “lack of respect.”
Kroos Responds: “Fake News”
Under the weight of the massive spread of these statements, Kroos was forced to intervene and confirm that he never uttered those words.
The German reposted the viral tweet on his official X account, writing “Fake” over it to end the controversy surrounding his alleged attack on Mbappé.
Context of the Crisis at Real Madrid
It stands to reason that Kroos, who is preparing to return to Real Madrid in an administrative role, would not make such remarks.
While Kroos has previously praised Mbappé as a massive addition to the club, Real Madrid has finished the season trophy-less for the second consecutive year.
This comes amid numerous crises for Mbappé, including issues with teammates and his recent outburst against Arbeloa for not starting him against Real Oviedo.
