The newspaper “Sport” reported that Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola has offered his services to Barcelona, but completing this deal is a pipe dream due to the Catalan club’s financial situation.
The French player’s contract with PSG expires in the summer of 2028, and it seems he has begun looking for a new destination given the stalled renewal negotiations between the two parties. One of the clubs Barcola hopes to join is Barcelona.
In recent months, Barcola changed his agent from Jorge Mendes to Moussa Sissoko, who is reportedly very keen on signing him in the renewal negotiations. It is said that Sissoko has already offered his client to Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco.
Barcelona highly values Barcola as one of the best wingers currently in the world, and there is no doubt that signing him would be a significant addition and would completely solve their left-wing problem. Deco generally dreams of signing a player with his qualities.
However, the deal is impossible. Paris Saint-Germain is adamant about keeping Barcola at least until the summer of 2027, and even if they were to let him go, Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s demands exceed €80 million, a sum Barcelona simply cannot afford.
Furthermore, Barcelona is hesitant to pay €30 million to permanently acquire Marcus Rashford from Manchester United and prefers to pay in installments. Moreover, a winger is not a priority for the club. If they were forced to spend such a sum, the management would prefer to sign a world-class striker like Julián Álvarez.
It’s worth noting that Sissoko has not only offered Barcola to Barcelona but also to several English clubs. Liverpool remains the most interested in signing the player and the most capable of completing a deal of this magnitude next summer.
