Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga has confirmed that he takes full responsibility for what happened in his team’s match against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final, asking the club’s fans for forgiveness.
The French player, who came on as a substitute in the second half, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 86th minute. Luis Diaz then scored the equalizer and put the Bavarian giants ahead, before Michael Olise sealed Real Madrid’s fate with a fourth goal in the dying moments of the match at the Allianz Arena.
Despite the controversy surrounding the referee’s decision to send off Camavinga, the player didn’t hesitate to admit his mistake and acted rashly. He posted a message on his Instagram account, writing, “I take full responsibility for what happened.”
He added, “I want to apologize to my team and to all Madridistas. Thank you for your support. Hala Madrid, always.”
Camavinga is currently under immense pressure at Real Madrid, especially with reports suggesting the club’s management is prepared to listen to offers for him this summer.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has not been a regular starter under coach Álvaro Arbeloa, and the incident in the Bayern Munich match will undoubtedly increase the pressure on his future at Real Madrid.
Camavinga has made 37 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
