Barcelona star Gerard Martin has confirmed that he will never join Real Madrid, emphasizing his absolute loyalty to the Catalan club regardless of any other offers.
Martin was promoted to Barcelona’s first team last season and quickly established himself as a regular starter under Hansi Flick.
In a television interview, Martin was asked about the possibility of a future move to Real Madrid, to which he firmly replied, “Impossible. There are some things money can never buy.”
Martin was linked with a move to AC Milan last summer before Barcelona decided to keep him. The 23-year-old was asked about the Italian offer and the possibility of a future transfer to the Rossoneri.
The Spaniard responded, “That’s what the media said. I haven’t heard anything like that. I’m very happy at Barcelona and I have no intention of leaving.”
Speaking about being called Gerard Maldini by Barcelona players, he concluded, “It’s funny, my teammates call me Maldini. I take it well and I’m happy with the way I’m performing at center-back, which leads to me being called that.”
