Achraf Hakimi scored a spectacular goal during Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Monaco in the first leg of the 2026 Champions League Round of 16 playoff.
The Moroccan international followed up a shot that was parried by the Monaco goalkeeper, then unleashed a powerful volley to score PSG’s third goal and give them the lead for the first time in the match.
Hakimi raised his total Champions League goals throughout his career to 10.
Hakimi is now Morocco’s all-time top scorer in the Champions League, tied with Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech, who each have 10 goals in the competition.
Hakimi has the opportunity to become Morocco’s sole top scorer in the Champions League if he scores any more goals in the remaining matches of his career, a feat that seems easily within his grasp.
This goal marks the Moroccan international’s first Champions League goal this season, having failed to score in his five league appearances. He opened his account in the knockout stages against Monaco.
Overall, Achraf Hakimi has scored three goals and provided three assists in 18 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
