Monaco to Release Paul Pogba

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Monaco’s management is planning to terminate Paul Pogba’s contract at the end of the current season after he failed to make the expected impact at the French club.

Pogba has only managed 30 minutes of playing time since arriving at Monaco last summer, plagued by numerous setbacks due to various muscle injuries.

Monaco’s CEO, Thiago Scorro, confirmed that the strategy to get Pogba back to full fitness has not yet been successful, indicating general dissatisfaction with the player’s situation in the principality.

According to the latest report, if Pogba fails to make a difference and his injuries persist, Monaco’s management will likely terminate his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027.

Hopes were high for the 32-year-old to quickly recover, but it seems that his extended absence from the pitch for more than two years has had a significant negative impact on him.

Pogba had dreamed of representing France at the 2026 World Cup, but that now seems impossible just four months before the tournament due to his continued struggles to find his rhythm and consistency at Monaco.

If Pogba leaves Monaco, his most likely destination remains Major League Soccer (MLS), and there’s a possibility of renewed interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, as was the case last summer before he decided to stay in Europe and continue his career with the prestigious French club.
