Cadena SER reports that Sergio Ramos is on the verge of joining Sevilla on a free transfer this winter.
The 38-year-old ended his time in Mexico with Monterrey at the end of last year, opting to return to Europe in hopes of participating in the 2026 World Cup.
According to the latest report, Ramos is working diligently to finalize his acquisition of Sevilla FC in partnership with an American company.
Sergio Ramos has reached a preliminary agreement with the club’s major shareholders, paving the way for exclusive negotiations to examine the club’s finances and the details of the deal. This follows an informal offer he made two weeks ago, reportedly worth around €400 million.
The Spanish defender is joined in this deal by his investment partner, Martin Inck, president of Five Eleven Capital, as they both seek to acquire a majority stake in Sevilla.
The agreement, which has reached advanced stages, will include Ramos moving as a player to Sevilla for the third time in his career, to play this season, and perhaps afterwards he will announce his retirement and devote himself to administrative work.
