Crystal Palace considering immediate dismissal of Glasner over his recent comments

Oliver Glasner’s time at Crystal Palace may be coming to an abrupt end, as the club’s management is considering his immediate dismissal following his recent remarks.

The Austrian coach criticized the Crystal Palace board after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland in the Premier League, specifically their policy of selling players at any cost.

Glassner stated that the recent poor results were understandable given the support he receives from the board, adding, “I feel like we’ve been completely abandoned. The worst part is selling our captain the day before the game.”

He continued, “I’ve kept quiet until now. We’ve been heartbroken twice this season, both times just the day before the game, losing Eze and Guehi.”

According to Sky Sports, Glasner’s comments have deeply angered club chairman Steve Parish, and discussions are now underway to immediately dismiss the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager, as his remarks are seen as undermining the team’s hopes of a high finish in the Premier League this season.

Glassner had already informed Crystal Palace’s management of his intention to leave the club when his contract expires next June in search of a new challenge, and now it appears he will depart Selhurst Park earlier than expected.

The 52-year-old is attracting interest from several major European clubs, most notably Manchester United, who have identified him as their top choice to permanently replace Ruben Amorim next season.
