Yazan Al-Naimat Suspected of ACL Tear

Yazan Al-Naimat suffered a serious injury during Jordan’s quarter-final match against Iraq in the 2025 Arab Cup.

The Jordanian star had missed the final group stage match against Egypt to avoid fatigue and ensure he was fully fit for the match against the Lions of Mesopotamia.

Indeed, Jamal Salami started Al-Naimat in the Iraq match, but he was forced to leave the field after just 15 minutes.

The Al-Arabi SC player’s knee suffered a severe twist, and unfortunately, it is highly likely he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Al-Naimat will undergo further tests to determine the nature of the injury and the length of his absence, with the hope that it is not an ACL tear, which would severely impact his career.

If the injury is confirmed, Al-Naimat will most likely miss the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off in mid-June.

Al-Naimat had been linked with a move to Al-Ahly of Egypt in January, and it was reported that the player had already reached an agreement, pending an agreement between Mahmoud El-Khatib’s administration and Al-Arabi’s management to finalize the deal.

Now, following his injury, it is doubtful that Al-Ahly will proceed with the agreement and sign him.
