Erling Haaland broke his recent goal drought, achieving a historic milestone by scoring against Fulham on Tuesday in the Premier League.
The Norwegian international had gone four games without scoring for City in all competitions, but Pep Guardiola remained confident he would soon find the net.
After the Leeds United match, Guardiola confirmed that Haaland would score his 100th Premier League goal in the following game, and it seems the prolific striker has fulfilled his manager’s promise.
Haaland opened the scoring for City against Fulham in the 17th minute of the match played at Craven Cottage in London.
With this goal, Haaland became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goals, achieving the feat in just 111 games, breaking Alan Shearer’s record of 124 games.
Haaland also raised his tally of goals this season for City in all competitions to 23 (15 of them in the Premier League) in 23 games.
