Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez didn’t miss the opportunity after his team’s 3-0 victory over Barcelona to mock the Catalan club and their star player, Lamine Yamal.
Sanchez, who kept a clean sheet, echoed the chants of the Blues fans at Stamford Bridge, who shouted, “Yamall… you’re a poor imitation of Estevan.”
When asked about Yamal’s performance in the match, Sanchez said, “Coucuria had him in his pocket.”
The London club’s goalkeeper also attempted to downplay Barcelona’s strengths and capabilities when he answered another question about the difference in intensity (physical strength) between English and Spanish clubs today, saying, “All teams are good until they come to play against Premier League teams.”
The Spanish goalkeeper clarified that his club, Chelsea, is the favorite to win the Champions League title this season, not Barcelona, saying, “Barcelona is a favorite to win the title? No, Chelsea is the favorite.”
Thanks to this victory, Chelsea reached ten points and occupied fifth place in the league stage of the Champions League, while Barcelona’s tally remained frozen at seventh place and they dropped to 15th place.
