Bayern Munich punishes Freiburg for their lead, crushing them 6-2

Many thought Bayern Munich was headed for its first defeat of the season when they faced Freiburg at the Allianz Arena in the 11th round of the Bundesliga.

The Bavarian club had been held to a draw by Union Berlin in their last match before the international break, marking the first setback for Vincent Kompany’s men in all competitions.

In the first 20 minutes against Freiburg, the southern club took a 2-0 lead, and it seemed Bayern might falter this time, given the performance of Julian Schuster’s team in the opening minutes.

But Bayern Munich doesn’t tolerate such complacency, and before the end of the first half, they managed to equalize at 2-2.

In the second half, Bayern unleashed a barrage of four goals against their visitors, securing a resounding 6-2 victory and further extending their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

Michael Ulise was the star of the show, contributing to five goals in the match (three assists and two goals). He became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to be involved in five goals in a single game, and the first Bayern Munich player in the last ten seasons to score two goals and provide three assists in a single match.

Fortunately for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart drew, leaving the Bavarians nine points clear of both and eight points ahead of current second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
