Arsenal Blow: Gabriel Ruled Out of Brazil Squad with ‘Complex’ Injury

Brazil has confirmed that Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães will miss Tuesday’s match against Tunisia due to a groin injury.

Gabriel was forced off with a muscle injury just an hour into Saturday’s 2-0 win over Senegal.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said in a statement: “Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhães underwent a reassessment on Sunday, and scans revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh.”

Therefore, he will not travel with the squad to Lille for the match against Tunisia. No replacement will be called up.

This injury will be a significant blow for Arsenal, who have relied heavily on Gabriel’s defensive contributions in their title challenge this season.

Gabriel was a key pillar of the team’s defense, which conceded just five goals in 11 Premier League matches. The center-back also contributed to three goals, including the late winner away to Newcastle United in September.

This injury puts the Brazilian international’s participation in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in jeopardy after the international break.
