Juan Alvina Bezerra left the Zamalek vs. Tala’ea El-Gaish match after just 25 minutes due to what appeared to be a serious injury.
The Brazilian star couldn’t stop crying as he left the field, and when he sat on the bench, he broke down in tears again, reflecting the severity of the injury and the possibility that it could sideline him for an extended period.
According to Egyptian media reports, Bezerra’s injury has been diagnosed as a hamstring strain. He is awaiting further medical examinations and scans in the coming hours to determine whether it is a tear or simply a muscle strain.
However, initially, it seems unlikely that Bezerra will be available for the Pyramids FC match on Thursday in the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final.
Hamstring strains typically require one to two weeks for full recovery, while a tear could keep Bezerra out for two months or more.
Bezerra had made 10 appearances for Zamalek across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists.
With Bezerra’s absence, there is no suitable replacement for him on the right wing. Coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf will have to rely on either Chico Banza, Oday Dabbagh, or Nasser Maser in that position as a temporary solution for the Super Cup.
