Manchester City star Erling Haaland needed just 17 minutes to score against Villarreal in the third round of the Champions League.
The Norwegian star pounced on a low cross from Rico Luis, outpaced a Villarreal defender, and powerfully fired the ball into the net, giving Pep Guardiola’s side the lead at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

This is Haaland’s 12th consecutive match, whether for Manchester City or the Norwegian national team.
Haaland has scored once against Brighton, once in Finland, and five times in Moldova. He has also scored twice against Manchester United, once in Naples, and once in Naples. He also scored twice against Burnley and Monaco, once against Brentford, a hat-trick in Israel, twice against Everton, and finally one against Villarreal.
With this, Haaland equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of scoring in 12 consecutive matches. The City star now has the opportunity to break that record if he scores in his 13th match against Aston Villa next Sunday.
In total, Haaland has scored 18 goals in his last 14 matches for Manchester City, and with the exception of the match against Tottenham, he has scored in every one of his matches for the English team this season.
