Serhou Guirassy may end up at Barcelona next summer, according to Bild, which indicated that the Borussia Dortmund striker is keen to join the Catalan club.
It’s no secret that Barcelona is looking for a new striker to replace Robert Lewandowski, and Guirassy has recently emerged as one of coach Hansi Flick’s top options, given his third consecutive year of impressive performances in the Bundesliga.
According to the German newspaper, the Guinean striker has agreed with Borussia Dortmund to reduce his release clause to just €65 million starting in the summer of 2026, which will facilitate his exit from Signal Iduna Park.
While this figure is still too high for Barcelona due to the stifling economic crisis, it makes Guirassy a realistic option for the Blaugrana, given that by selling some players, this amount could be met or other solutions could be found in compliance with Financial Fair Play regulations.
As for Guirassy, the player is seeking to leave Borussia Dortmund and move to a club that competes for all trophies. Flick is among those most welcoming of the signing, especially since his attributes are not very different from Lewandowski’s, in addition to his exceptional scoring ability.
Guirassy continues to shine with Dortmund, scoring 10 goals in his first 13 matches this season. Overall, the 29-year-old has scored 68 goals in the Bundesliga in 106 matches, in addition to 20 goals in the Champions League, in the last three years alone.
