The Egyptian Football Association has announced the referee for the Zamalek vs. Ghazl El Mahalla match in the tenth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The White Knights enter this match following a 2-0 derby defeat to Al Ahly, and it is expected to be pivotal for the future of coach Yannick Ferreira.
Controversial referee Mohamed Maarouf will officiate the match between Zamalek and Ghazl El Mahalla, assisted by Adi Eid, Ahmed Zidan, and Haitham Othman as the fourth official.
Referee Abdel Aziz El Sayed will be the VAR referee, assisted by Ahmed Hamed Fahim.
This will be the first Zamalek match this season that Mahmoud Maarouf has officiated. His previous experiences with the White Knights have been numerous, but they have never been without their usual controversies.
Zamalek currently sits first in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 17 points, while Ghazl El Mahalla, who have suffered only one defeat this season, are in 14th place with 10 points.
