The Al Ahly vs. Zamalek match in the Egyptian League witnessed the brilliance of several players from both teams, but the Man of the Match award ultimately went to one of the Red Castle’s stars.
Al Ahly succeeded in turning a one-goal deficit into a 2-0 victory, securing the 131st summit victory and moving within two points of Zamalek, with a game in hand. A win could see Emad El Nahhas’s side claim the league lead.
The Egyptian Football Association awarded Al Ahly star Hussein El Shahat the Man of the Match award after he revolutionized the match as soon as he entered the field.
El Shahat replaced Taher Mohamed Taher in the 65th minute and, minutes later, scored the equalizer. He then won the penalty kick from which Trezeguet converted the winning goal for Al Ahly.
El Shahat’s goal took his total against Zamalek in the summit to six, making him, along with Mohamed Sherif, the current top scorer in the Cairo derby.
