What is the truth about Chico Banza’s rebellion against Zamalek over his unpaid wages?

Angolan media reported that Chico Banza is rebelling against Zamalek and refusing to participate in matches due to his demand for overdue wages.

Banza did not participate in the last two matches against Al-Masry and Ismaily after being excluded from Zamalek’s roster. Coach Yannick Ferreira attributed this to a disciplinary decision due to the player’s late return during the last international break.

However, Angolan newspapers reported that Banza is extremely angry with Zamalek for not receiving his overdue wages, and is therefore refusing to participate in matches until the matter is resolved.

Zamalek responded via Egyptian media, asserting that all the rumors about Banza’s rebellion and his overdue wages are baseless.

A source within the White Castle confirmed that the Angolan player has participated in all of the team’s training sessions since returning from the international break. If he is truly angry with the club, how can he show up every day to training as if nothing has happened?

Meanwhile, Chico Banza may appear in Zamalek’s upcoming match against El Gouna, but the decision is entirely in the hands of coach Yannick Ferreira, who has preferred Palestinian Adam Kayed on the left wing in the last two matches.

It’s worth noting that Chico Banza joined Zamalek from Estrela Amadora for $800,000 and has scored two goals in four appearances for the team so far. His former Portuguese club, FC Porto, has filed a complaint against the Egyptian club for not yet receiving the transfer fee.
