The Spanish Football Federation has decided to suspend Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen for one match after receiving a red card in the recent La Liga match against Real Sociedad.
The Spanish Referees Committee acknowledged that Huijsen’s red card was incorrect, but the Federation nevertheless approved the 19-year-old’s punishment.
According to Cadena Ser, the punishment for Huijsen was reduced to one match instead of two due to the refereeing error.
However, Real Madrid filed another appeal to overturn the punishment and allow Huijsen to participate in the upcoming match against Espanyol. However, the Federation rejected the appeal, making the punishment final and non-appealable.
This decision further angers Real Madrid’s management towards Spanish football institutions, amidst a belief that there is a conspiracy against the royal club that is undermining the team’s chances of competing in domestic competitions.
It’s worth noting that Huijsen’s controversial case was the reason Real Madrid’s management decided to file a complaint against Spanish referees with FIFA, hoping to pressure various bodies to treat the club more fairly in the coming period.
