Mundo Deportivo reported that La Liga has set the date for the next Real Madrid-Barcelona match, scheduled for next October.
El Clásico usually takes place late in the evening, but in recent years, the league has moved the match forward to the afternoon to attract a larger audience in Asian countries.
According to the latest report, La Liga is currently leaning toward holding the next El Clásico at 5:15 PM Mecca time, with the Santiago Bernabéu hosting the match on October 26.
This means that the second-round match scheduled for next May at Camp Nou will be played in the evening. La Liga has followed a policy of holding one El Clásico in the afternoon and another in the evening for nearly ten years.
Since the 2016/17 season, five El Clásicos in the first round have been played in the afternoon, at 5:15 PM, with the 2020/21 El Clásico starting at 5:00 PM.
In the 2017/18 season, the match kicked off at 2:00 PM on Christmas Eve. El Clásico was originally scheduled to take place at the same time in 2019 at Camp Nou, but due to the threat of a political tsunami, this was changed and the match was moved to another evening.
