The Athletic reported that Arsenal may be forced to re-enter the current summer transfer market after suffering a major blow with the injury of one of its stars in recent group training.
This star is German Kai Havertz, who, according to the report, was unable to complete Arsenal’s training session on Wednesday and left with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.
The expected length of Havertz’s absence has not yet been determined, and this remains subject to medical tests he will undergo in the coming hours. However, the initial signs do not bode well for the German’s return to the Gunners anytime soon.
If it is confirmed that Havertz will need a long time to return, Arsenal will work to sign a new striker as a replacement, especially since Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from his cruciate ligament injury.
Arsenal announced a contract renewal for Leandro Trossard, making him the only available replacement for striker Victor Gjokeres, who primarily plays on the left wing.
It should be noted that this is Havertz’s second major injury in 2025, having suffered an injury last February that sidelined him for 18 matches with the Gunners. This injury also affected his knee.
