Real Madrid player Chema Andrés has moved permanently to Stuttgart, but the club reserves the right to reclaim the talented young player at any time.
Andrés has only made three appearances for Real Madrid’s first team and has been active primarily with the youth teams since joining in 2018 at the age of 13. He played the entirety of last season with Castilla and was also part of the Spanish Under-19 team’s victory at the 2024 European Championship.
The 20-year-old Andrés is seen as the future of midfield in Spanish football, boasting a height and excellent passing ability. Some have even dubbed him the “new Rodri.”
Despite Real Madrid’s need for a new midfielder, the decision was made to give him the opportunity to play regularly. Stuttgart, the German Cup champions and ninth-placed Bundesliga champions last season, seemed like an ideal destination.
According to Spanish media reports, Stuttgart paid €3 million to sign Andrés, with Real Madrid retaining a buyback clause for just €13 million.
Andrés will have the opportunity to establish himself in the Bundesliga, perhaps emulating the example of Dani Carvajal, who was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen and then returned with the same buyback clause, becoming one of Real Madrid’s most important players.
The young Spaniard’s debut with Stuttgart will be in the highly anticipated German Super Cup match against Bayern Munich on August 16. The Swabians will also participate in the Europa League next season.
