Monaco Shocks Pogba Return Expectations: He Won’t Play Anytime Soon!

Monaco’s sporting director, Thiago Scuro, has made it abundantly clear that Paul Pogba will not be participating in the French club’s matches anytime soon.

Monaco announced the signing of Pogba on a free transfer, marking the French star’s return to football after a two-year absence.

Despite Pogba’s assurances that he has been training continuously to maintain his fitness, the reality, according to Scuro, is that the player will need a long time to be fit to play.

Scuro said in a press statement, “We are happy to have Pogba with us, but it is too early for him to play against Le Havre (the first Ligue 1 match in August).”

He added, “We know he needs time, and it could take about three months to be in good shape to compete.”

Pogba had previously stated that he dreams of returning to the French national team as a “reward” for everything he has been through over the past two years.

If things go as planned for the 33-year-old, he could make his return next October and play again in the Champions League.
