The Times revealed a shocking decision by Tottenham’s board regarding Heung-Min Son.
The South Korean international is a Spurs legend and, after a long wait, achieved his first title with the London club by winning the Europa League last month.
However, chief executive Daniel Levy wants to launch a major revolution at Spurs after their domestic failure and 17th-place finish in the Premier League.
For this reason, many players are set to leave, and after the departure of manager Ange Postecoglou, Levy decided that the second victim would be the legendary Son.
According to The Times, the 32-year-old Son has been informed that he is looking for a new club and is not in the plans of manager Thomas Frank for next season.
At the same time, Son will not leave quickly. Tottenham is targeting a departure in late August, specifically after the club returns from its trip to South Korea. His absence would mean financial and fan failure.
Son joined Tottenham in 2015 from Leverkusen for €30 million, scoring 173 goals and providing 101 assists for Spurs.
Son played little last season, and his age was clearly affected by his injuries. He has also been linked with a move to Saudi clubs in recent months.
